We rang in the new year at noon at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding.
Happy Noon Year! Welcome to 2017.
Family friendly New Year’s celebrations. Thanks Turtle Bay. That’s Really Redding.
Life and all in Redding California
The hill on Placer Street yesterday became a giant urban waterslide for a day.
Portions of the money raised here will go toward rebuilding the facilities at Kid’s Kingdom, a park in east Redding we’re very fond of. Judging by turnout, the event was big success. I’m told there were over 4000 participants.

Close off a major street for a giant urban waterslide, that’s Really Redding.
I’ve never seen better photos of the Redding Rodeo than these from photojournalist Matt Cohen:
Amazing! You may need to be logged in to Facebook to see the entire album. Well worth your viewing! Rodeo is tonight and tomorrow.
Astonishing Rodeo athleticism from animals and humans. That’s Really Redding.
Re-posting this video we did a few years ago of the annual Asphalt Cowboy’s Pancake Breakfast that takes place each year on Friday of Rodeo Week. We’ve been going to this annual fundraising breakfast for as long as I can remember, and obviously we aren’t alone. I think it’s really unique to our town, and a terrific example of the true Redding spirit. Tomorrow morning, on Market Street at the Cascade Theatre block.
Breakfast with 10,000 or so of my friends and neighbors. That’s Really Redding.
Erin attended the opening night of The Moroccan Dinner at Armando’s Gallery in Redding and came away with a few images.
We attended the Spooktoberfest put on by Turtle Bay with kids and grandkids in tow. It was very well attended. A few scenes:
Above, the super cute costume contest.
Thanks to Turtle Bay for this fun experience from our family and all the others who enjoyed the evening! It’s Really Redding.
The photo I took of the Redding Beer & Wine Festival and posted here a few years back has become iconic for the event. It is one of my favorite Redding events, and one of my favorite photos too. See you there!
